St. Patrick Update: November 6, 2022

School Closure Update - Co-op Academy Swinton

Just a reminder that St. Patrick is closed to students on Monday, November 7, 2022, and potentially longer, due to the ongoing dispute between the Ministry of Education and CUPE. For the Wellington Catholic District School Board, CUPE represents custodial staff.

We do not know how long the strike and the resulting closures will last. So, we are preparing for a shift to remote learning.  Many parents have already requested a loaned device by completing the survey sent out on Friday.  The link to the survey is located below and is open until 12:00pm on Monday. Once the survey closes, we will begin preparing devices, iPads for Primary and Netbooks for Grades 4-8, and will email parents when the devices are ready for pick-up.

On Monday, classroom teachers will post asynchronous activities by 10:30am via the class D2L. If you are not able to access D2L via the WCDSB Student Portal or if your child is not able to complete academic tasks independently, do not stress about it. We understand!  Further communication will go out in the afternoon on Monday regarding our plan for synchronous learning, if required.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email your child’s teacher, or call the main office between 9:00am and 3:00pm.
